, I'm Shreya

Family, humanities, science and art, they all inspire me, but nothing more inspiring than the calling of those in need. Fascinating how every event of life helps one discover a little more of the self.

Know little more of me and do remember to share your thought, ideas, feedback.

Fine Arts - 52,000 Years Old

One of the oldest known figurative paintings, a depiction of an unknown bovine, was discovered in the Lubang Jeriji Saléh cave.

Enlightening it is ! to express emotions with lines & colors. A vocabulary known to human’s for thousand’s of years; yet ever new; yet ever enfolding.

Dance - Natyashastra (500 BCE)

Shiva has been dancing from eternity ! The first codification of all art forms including dance was done in Natyashastra in 500 BCE.

Still learning the art of supreme devotion for 9 years and counting.

(1,000 BCE)

न त्वह कामये राज्य
न स्वर्ग नापुनर्भवम् |
कामये दुःखतप्ताना
प्राणिनामार्तिनाशनम् ||

I do not desire for kingdom, heaven or the end of rebirths(Moksha). My Only desire is that all those beings which are afflicted by misery be happy.

About Me

What Shapes My World

I am Shreya, I study at Overseas Family School in Singapore. Understanding Humanity is my avocations and Art is my lens. I am learning Indian classical dance – Kathak since I was 7 year old. Similarly I have been learning Visual Art from the age of four – trust me to really internalise an art in true spirit, it requires that tenacity. Humans have been practicing these Art forms for tens of thousands of years, no wonder that more you learn, more you realise that there is more to human’s heart and mind than we know. These Art forms are my vehicles that I am unable to alight from in my learning of the Human side of Humans. What I know so far is that world is not a battle field (Hindi: Runnbhumi) with the survival of the fittest rule; the world is an arena of performers (Hindi: Rangbhoomi), there is a space to admire others success and effort, their view point, their beliefs. There is enough in the world for everyone to have and share; be prosperous and be blissful.

They say, it takes a village to grow a child, I raised in large joint family of 20 members. Sharing with others, enjoying the diversity of taste, capabilities and views. I am a very very family person and I belong to the moments I spend with family and friends. I have been inspired by my family to become a better version of myself. I recognise how eternally expedient I am not only for such privileged facilities to enhance my learning experience but also to have the opportunities to give back. I hope one day, I’ll be able to contribute to idea that such privileged education environment and basic necessities is available to every child in the world. From a young age I have seen my elder brother fascinated over space and black holes which has always perplexed me. In my opinion the human mind is the most fascinating thing in the universe. I wanted to know how emotions function, I wish to construct a methodology to ensure that there is nothing but pleasantness in every human’s experience.
